Grandparents

I’ve been thinking about this post for awhile… In addition to wedding and portrait photography, I do some fundraising photography for the Strafford, Missouri school system. One of those projects includes Grandparent’s Day. I didn’t realize, at first, how important this was. The kids (and grandparents) are so excited to have their photo taken together. One great-grandma walked up with her grandchildren, with a hat on. She said, (before I even opened my my mouth) “I can’t take my hat off, honey; my head is bald”. This made me stop and realize just how important it is to get a few shots of your kids and their grandparents, even if it’s a Polaroid… anything to document them together. My daughter walked by my desk as I was editing her photo with her Nana and Papa. She looked at the photo, and looked back at me. She kind of teared up (keep in mind, she is 4)… and said, “I LOVE those guys…” Oh my gosh, I almost lost it, then and there! Please take the time to photograph your kids with their grandparents. You won’t regret it for a second. Here is the photo:
