Yesterday afternoon Ashley begged to go play in the snow. So she got her snow clothes on and went outside. (I am so done with all of the cold, wet snow). I watched her look around, kick at the snow, and sigh. Pretty soon… she was at the door, saying, “Pleeeeeze come play with me!!!” Immediately, my mind went back ten years when Shane (my fifteen year old) was saying the same thing. I thought about it for maybe two seconds, dropped what I was doing, put my on my coveralls, coat and boots and headed out the door. Ten years from now, she will be in her room listening to music and will care less what I’m doing. But right now, she wants me to play with her. And – that’s what matters 🙂
